S50C Description

1: s50c, is a high quality medium carbon steel, the use of electric furnace, open furnace or pure oxygen converter steelmaking process of all static steel, with the characteristics of uniform microstructure. The steel carbon content (mass fraction, %) ≥0.4, excellent wear resistance, ductility reduction, quenching easy deformation and cracking, so quenching is extremely important, must be cooled after cutting and tempering to avoid tempering brittleness. The machinability of this kind of carbon steel can be improved by spheroidizing treatment. The steel is usually used after tempering to a hardness of 19~22HRC to increase its cutting performance.
