(1) Ordinary Polyester (PE, Polyester)

PE coating has good adhesion to the material, color coated steel plate is easy to process and forming, cheap and many products, color and luster choice. Polyester coating resistance to UV light and coating powder resistance, is not ideal, so the use of PE coating still need to be limited, generally used in areas where air pollution is not serious or need multiple molding processing products.

(2) Silicone Mobified Polyester (SMP)

Since polyester contains the active group -OH/-COOH, it is easy to react with other polymers and compounds. To improve the sun resistance and pulverization property of PE, Silicone resin is denatalized with excellent color retention and heat resistance. The denaturation ratio of silicone resin to PE is between 5%-50%. Its corrosion-resistant life can be as long as 10-12 years, and of course its price is higher than PE. However, because of the Silicone resin's adhesion to materials and its formability is not ideal, SMP colored coated steel sheet is not suitable for the occasions where silicone resin needs to be shaped multiple times, and it is mostly used for roofing and exterior walls of buildings.

(3) High-durable polyester (HDP, High durable Polyster)

For the disadvantages of PE and SMP, HYDRO of Britain (now acquired by BASF) and BECKER of Sweden developed HDP polyester coatings at the beginning of 2000, which can achieve 60-80% weather resistance of PVDF coating, and is better than ordinary silicon modified polyester coatings, and its outdoor weather resistance can reach 15 years. High durability polyester resin in the synthesis of monomer containing cyclohexane structure, to achieve the resin flexibility, weatherability and cost balance, the use of aromatic polyols and polyacids to reduce the absorption of UV light resin, to achieve high weatherability paint. Uv absorbent and HALS were added to the coating formula to improve the weatherability of the coating film. The high durability polyester coil coating has been recognized by the market abroad, and the cost performance of the coating is very outstanding.

(4) PVC Plastisol

PVC resin has good water resistance and chemical resistance, generally with high solid parts of coating, the coating thickness between l00-300μm, can provide smooth PVC coating film or light embossing treatment for embossing film; Because PVC coating for thermal plasticity resin, with high film thickness, can provide good protection of steel plate. But PVC heat resistance is weak. In the early days, it was used more in Europe, but now it is used less and less due to its relatively poor environmental properties.

(5) polyvinylidene fluoride, namely fluorocarbon coating (PVDF)

Due to the chemical bond and chemical bond between polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF, there is a strong bond energy, so the coating has very good corrosion resistance and color retention, in the construction industry with color coated steel coating, is a Z high-grade product, and the molecular weight is large and straight bond structure, so in addition to chemical resistance, mechanical properties, UV resistance and heat resistance are also very prominent. Under normal environment, its corrosion protection life can be up to 20-25 years. In recent years, fluorine-containing resin with trifluorinated vinyl chloride and vinyl ester monomer copolymerization has become popular in China, which is widely used in the exterior wall and metal plate of buildings. Because the content of vinyl ester monomer and fluorine which is easy to hydrolysis is about 30% lower than PVDF, there is a certain gap between its weather resistance and PVDF. Baosteel produced fluorocarbon coating, its coating PVDF content is not less than 70% (the other is acrylic acid resin).

(6) Polyurethane (PU)

A new type of face paint developed in recent years has excellent comprehensive performance and high price, which is being popularized.

(7) acrylic acid resin

Good comprehensive performance, expensive, only used in a specific field (such as container).
