In recent years, the increase of domestic galvanized sheet production is mainly the increase of hot-galvanized sheet production, from 1998 to 2002, hot-galvanized sheet production increased from 970,000 tons to 2.2 million tons; The import volume increased from 370,000 tons in 1998 to 1.56 million tons in 2002. Apparent consumption increased from 1.32 million tons to 3.67 million tons. In 2002, the domestic product self-sufficiency rate of hot-galvanized sheet was about 60%, that year's domestic production and import volume of hot-galvanized sheet increased compared with the previous year, especially the import volume increased more, mainly due to the increase in the demand for hot-galvanized sheet with thin specifications for the production of color coated sheet, resulting in a decline in the domestic product self-sufficiency rate.

(2) Current consumption situation of electrogalvanized sheet

In recent years, with the rapid development of the family car market, the basic popularity of household appliances, personal computers, a large number of exports of electronic products, the development of the security door market, the demand for electrogalvanized sheet growth too fast. At present, the production scale of electric galvanized sheet can not meet the demand of domestic market whether in quantity or variety or quality. From 1998 to 2002, the domestic production of electrogalvanized sheet increased slowly from 170,000 tons to 400,000 tons. The import volume increased rapidly from 730,000 tons to 1.78 million tons. Apparent consumption increased from 870,000 tons to 2.16 million tons. The self-sufficiency rate of domestic products is less than 20%.
